4300년 이상 된 것으로 추정되는 이 메르티(관리) 조각상statue of Merti은 고대 이집트 고왕국 제5왕조 시대 것으로, 사카라Saqqara에서 출토되었을 가능성이 높다.

아카시아 나무acacia wood를 소재로 삼고 석고와 채색을 발랐다.

크기는 101 x 51.3 x 43.7cm(39 3/4 x 20 3/16 x 17 3/16인치)다.

현재 미국 뉴욕주 뉴욕시 메트로폴리탄 미술관에 있다.

이집트 유물관리국Egyptian Antiquities Service이 사카라에서 발굴했으며, 1926년 로저스 기금Rogers Fund을 통해 이집트 정부로부터 미술관이 구입했다.

Possibly over 4300 years old, this statue of Merti, an Official, is attributed to the 5th Dynasty of the Old Kingdom of ancient Egypt, and is likely from Saqqara. It is made of acacia wood with gesso and paint. It measures 101 x 51.3 x 43.7 cm (39 3/4 x 20 3/16 x 17 3/16 in).

This artifact is now housed by the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, New York, United States. It was excavated by the Egyptian Antiquities Service at Saqqara and purchased by the museum from the Egyptian Government in 1926 through the Rogers Fund.
