Some interesting and brilliant mosaics from Roman ruins around the world.

The most common and absolute coolest are from Pompeii.

The ‘Cave Canem’ (beware dog), accompanied by various varieties of large dogs, mostly on large chains, to make uninvited visitors think twice about entering.

The 2nd was found at a bathhouse in Timgad, Algeria, and says ‘Bene lava’ (wash well).

The 3rd was from Sabratha, Libya, and says ‘Salvom Lavisse’ (Bathing is good for you).

Similar finds from the Roman world are common and include ‘please remove shoes’ and ‘please wipe your feet.’

그중 가장 흔하고 멋진 것들은 폼페이에서 발견된 것들이다.

첫 번째는 ‘카베 카넴(Cave Canem, 개 조심)’으로, 커다란 개가 긴 사슬에 묶인 모습이 묘사되어 있어 초대받지 않은 방문객들이 들어오기 전에 다시 한 번 생각하게 만든다.

두 번째는 알제리 팀가드 목욕탕에서 발견된 ‘베네 라바(Bene lava, 잘 씻으세요)’라는 문구다.

세 번째는 리비아 사브라타에서 발견된 ‘살봄 라비스(Salvom Lavisse, 목욕은 몸에 좋다)’라는 문구다.

이와 유사한 모자이크 작품들은 로마 유적에서 흔히 찾아볼 수 있으며, ‘신발을 벗어주세요’나 ‘발을 닦아주세요’와 같은 문구도 있다.
