This lidded jar from the Jiajing reign (1522-66) of the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) is covered entirely in overglaze wucai (five-color) decoration, with red and green taking center stage and yellow, black, purple adding depth and dimension to the scene.

Around the body of the jar, four celestial horses leap and race through a sea of clouds.

Banana leaf motifs adorn the neck, with intertwining lotus scrolls along the shoulder, and stylized lotus petals near the foot.

명나라(1368-1644) 가정嘉靖 연간(1522-66)에 제작된 이 뚜껑 있는 이 중국 항아리lidded jar는 전체적으로 오색五色 유약으로 장식했으며,

붉은색과 초록색이 중심을 이루고 노란색, 검은색, 보라색이 깊이감과 입체감을 더한다.

항아리 몸체에는 네 마리 천마天馬celestial horses가 구름 바다를 가로지르며 질주하는 모습이 그렸다.

목 부분에는 바나나 잎 무늬가, 어깨 부분에는 연꽃 덩굴 무늬가, 발 부분에는 양식화한 연꽃잎 무늬를 장식했다.
